Who makes it
The site is built by the independent developer behind the Unit Converter mobile apps, which have been published since 2020. You can see the developer's other apps on Google Play and the App Store.
How values are checked
- Every factor comes from an exact definition, for example 1 inch = 2.54 cm and 1 pound = 0.45359237 kg, rather than a rounded number.
- The website and the apps share one conversion data file, so they always show the same results.
- Automated tests compare every linear unit against its published definition to a relative error of one part per billion.
- Results are rounded only for display; tables show up to seven significant digits.
